Group formation and relationships

Groups begin and end within five stages. The groups may not go through severally stage in nightspot of process but rather simultaneously or simply out of order (Robbins & Judge, 2007). Understanding the following stages may prove to be useful in understanding the groups and purpose what stage they may be in.

Forming: Group members are let off identifying themselves as individuals rather than a team. When they learn to see each other as a group whence they have completed this stage (Robbins & Judge, 2007).

Storming: As part of a group we no longer feel like individuals and we have to order up our control (Robbins & Judge, 2007). Once the members are able to do that and agree to one person as the leader then the group can focus on another stage.





Norming: The group has finally got it together and in synch with one another upon extent of this stage (Robbins & Judge, 2007).

Performing: At this point the members have go pass getting to know each other and background signal up rules (Robbins & Judge, 2007). Here the team actually works on the go for that needs completion (Robbins & Judge, 2007).

Adjourning: This is the end of the trail for groups, oddly temporary ones. Throughout this stage the group is focused on tying up loose ends and turning in the project (Robbins & Judge, 2007).
