A new online catalogue of the drawings by Sir Christopher Wren and his office, held in the cathedrals collections at capital of the United Kingdom Metropolitan Archives, is being written by the architectural historiographer Dr Gordon Higgott. Generously sponsored by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, the Fri exterminates of St Pauls Cathedral, the Pilgrim Trust, the Delmas Foundation, the Headley Trust, the Marc Fitch Fund and the DOyly Carte Charitable Trust, this major research project will publish all 225 Wren-office drawings on the cathedrals online database, together with introductory essays on the website.

Most of the drawings take in been in the cathedrals collections since the mid-eighteenth century. Recent research on those responsible for the drawings has led to a reassessment of the history of Wrens design from the planning of the abandoned Great Model in 1673 to the cathedrals completion in 1710.
