The Critical Thinking Project established in 1997, and is a brain child of the umbrella body called Open nine for Southern Africa (OSISA). The concept of critical thinking is not genuinely new but an important component for most professions. The Ministry of instruction, Science, vocational Training and Early Child Education will wrench in partnership with OSISA to implement the Critical Thinking Project in Zambia which is also currently active in Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. The overall goal of the partnership is to improve the quality of education done the integration of critical thinking that will in cultivate contribute to the transformation of the education. The Ministry through the directorate of Teacher Education and Specialised Services has taken a positive measuring towards engrossing Critical Thinking in the learning pedagogies in the classroom. Education officers from various directorates of the ministry and other key stakeholders, Colleges of Education, the Examinations Council of Zambia and Curriculum victimisation Centre among others impart officers currently undergoing training in aspects of Critical Thinking.



Specifically, the project intends to put in place a warmheartedness team of 40 trainers in critical thinking pedagogical methodologies who will roll out the concept in Zambia. general thrust is to impact skills at teacher training level and Curriculum development levels and so far, three training sessions have being held during the last nine months.
