Vegetarian Festival

Thai vegetarian festival is celebrated on the ninth lunar month of Chinese calendar in every year. At the beginning, in Thailand, this holiday was not shown in history. It has been passed from old Thai-Chinese Buddhists to red-hot generations, and started in the Southern Thailand. Initially, Thai-Chinese people were the first group to become vegetarian food in straddle to make virtue and hold back virtually animal life that was killed for food. Later, the vegetarian food became famous and cognize in Thai society. Currently, many Thai people cognise that vegetarian food is supporting them to shake up the healthy life. Therefore, they created Thai vegetarian festival, called Tad-Sa-Karn-Kin-Jay, that begins in late September and lasts nine days.
Before the holiday begins in late September, many religious Buddhists from different parts of Thailand novel their houses and stop killing the animals. They avoid eating any magnetic core about one or two days onwards joining that festival. Furthermore, some supermarkets stock a lot of vegetables and ingredients to cheat during these holidays, and some restaurants temporarily change the recipe to cook with vegetables or imitated meats.



During the celebration, all participants eat only vegetarian food, wear white apparel and discipline themselves with ten basic holy rules such as; do not drink alcohol, do not bemuse sex, do not tell lies or kills, etc in rear to claim their minds and refresh their bodies. They also go to Chinese temples to crave to Buddha and donate money or dry foods to maintain and help those temples, and they believe that it will bring the luck to them and their families.
The day ordinal of celebration, is the highlight time of Thai vegetarian festival. All Chinese temples chip in the spectacular parades that are accompanied by lion dances and some participants to show the incredible actions.
